EAR, NOSE & THROAT
At Nottingham ENT we provide a comprehensive range of emergency, urgent and routine services for both children and adults.
Our areas of expertise include:
+Otology, tinnitus, balance, Meniere's disease, ear infections, and hearing. We perform surgery such as grommets, mastoid surgery, perforated ear drum repair, and intra-tympanic injections. We work closely with colleagues in the audiology department, who deal with hearing aids, tinnitus, and balance problems.
+Implantation otology such as cochlear implants, middle ear implants, bone anchored hearing aids, as well as ossiculoplasty and stapes surgery
+Anterior and lateral skull base surgery including acoustic neuromas, CSF leak repairs, pituitary surgery and glomus tumours
+Rhinology, sinus disease, nasal allergy, nose bleeds and fractured noses. We perform surgery such as endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty
+Facial plastic surgery including septorhinoplasty and pinnaplasty
+Benign and oncological Head & Neck surgery, including major cancer resection and reconstruction. We perform surgery such as thyroidectomy, parotidectomy, laryngectomy, neck dissection, transoral laser surgery, and pharyngeal pouch surgery. +Voice surgery. We have a dedicated voice clinic where patients are assessed in a multidisciplinary fashion, our surgeons working closely with Speech and Language Therapists to help patients such as professional voice users
+Paediatric ENT such as the common conditions of glue ear, perforated ear drums, snoring and sleep apnoea, as well as rare complex conditions like laryngomalacia, tracheomalacia, subglottic stenosis, tracheostomy, neck masses and EXIT procedure.
We also work in a multidisciplinary vasculitis clinic, run a dedicated emergency clinic, and have a nurse-led aural care centre.
Many of our patients travel to us a long way as they are referred to us from their own local hospitals seeking a more expert opinion in a tertiary centre, whilst other patients come direct from their GP. We are one of the largest and most advanced centres for ENT problems in the country, with a world-wide reputation for our clinical work and research.
