NOTTINGHAM ENT CONSULTANTS
Yujay Ramakrishnan (FRCS ORL-HNS, MA Cantab, MB BChir)
Yujay is a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist and Head of ENT service based at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham. His practice is dedicated to rhinology (sinus and rhinoplasties) and skull base surgery. He provides advice on complex cancer and non-cancer cases regionally within Nottinghamshire. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2001. He trained in Cambridge, Newcastle and London before completing his ear, nose and throat (ENT) Specialist training in the Northern deanery. He is fellowship trained is both cosmetic and anterior skull base surgery. He publishes widely and conducts research in sinusitis as well as smell and taste disorders.
Mat Daniel MMEd PhD FRCS
Mat is a Consultant Paediatric Otorhinolaryngologist. He trained in the East Midlands and in Sydney, and obtained a PhD in the fields of Glue Ear microbiology / biofilms and drug delivery. He is involved in a variety of research projects, including basic science research and clinical trials, and collaborates with researchers, clinicians and industry across the UK and abroad. He is involved in the running of national ENT research and academic societies, and was the very first honorary secretary of the British Otorhinolaryngology and Allied Sciences Research Society. He has a Masters in Medical Education, and is the undergraduate lead for ENT at The University of Nottingham. His clinical practice is dedicated to the care of children with ENT problems, dealing with common conditions like sleep apnoea and glue ear, and specialising in paediatric airway disorders such as stridor, tracheostomy, laryngomalacia (floppy larynx), inhaled foreign bodies, and other emergency conditions. He works closely with paediatric and neonatal intensive care units, with other paediatricians caring for children with complex needs, and is part of the cleft palate multidisciplinary team. Putting children first is at the centre of everything that he does.

Anand Kasbekar BMedSci, DOHNS, FRCS (ORL-HNS), DM
Anand Kasbekar is a Consultant ENT Surgeon & Neurotologist (Adult & Children), and Honorary Assistant Professor at Nottingham University Hospitals / Nottingham University. Anand completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Nottingham (2003) before being trained as an adult and paediatric Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon in London, Cambridge, Glasgow and Liverpool. This included a year at the renowned Alder Hey Children's hospital undertaking complex ENT surgery. Anand has undertaken visiting fellowships at Stanford University (California), the House Clinic (Los Angeles, USA) and Radboud UMC (Nijmegen, Netherlands). He has undertaken a post-training specialist fellowship in all types of hearing implants, chronic ear conditions, cholesteatoma, balance disorders and Neurotology at the world famous Otology/Skull base unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He is one of two stapedectomy surgeons in the region. He gained a Doctorate in Medicine undertaken at Cambridge University Hospitals in collaboration with the Medical Research Council. He undertakes his research at the NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre. Anand runs training courses for ENT doctors and also teaches on various national ENT courses.

Priya Achar MS (ENT), DNB (ENT), MSc, FRCS (ORL-HNS)
Priya Achar is a Consultant neurotologist. She is a core member of the Nottingham Auditory Implant programme and Skull Base multidisciplinary team in Nottingham delivering high quality patient care. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate training from Mumbai University in India and acquired further postgraduate training in ENT in Liverpool (Health Education North West Deanery). She has undertaken two U.K. fellowships:
1. Complex Otology and Auditory Implant fellowship in Guys and St Thomas, London
2. Lateral SkullBase and Auditory Implant fellowship in Manchester
She has completed her Masters in Healthcare science and practice from University of Central Lancashire. She participates in teaching medical school students of Nottingham University. Her areas of interest include hearing restoration with cochlear implants, bone conducting devices, middle ear implants, stapes surgery & ossiculoplasty; management of lateral skull base tumours such as vestibular schwannomas; management of cholesteatoma involving middle ear and skull base; and balance disorders such as Ménière’s disease, BPPV and vestibular migraine.
